What Makes Us Different
Recovery is not only about stopping a behavior, it is about remembering who you are underneath the conditioning: whole. Raising your vibratory frequency is a way of describing the shift from shame and fear toward peace, compassion, and connection that makes lasting change possible.
Treating the Whole Person
At New Wave, we believe recovery sticks when you treat the whole person, not just the substance use. Addiction affects the mind, the body, and the spirit, and it usually grows out of something deeper, anxiety, depression, trauma, or pain that has gone unaddressed. Our integrative approach is designed to meet all of it.
That means proven clinical therapy like CBT and DBT, delivered by licensed clinicians, woven together every day with holistic practices like Reiki, yoga, sound healing, and mindfulness. The clinical work changes thoughts and behaviors; the holistic work calms the nervous system and reconnects you with yourself. Together they uncover and address the underlying issues, paving the way for lasting transformation rather than a temporary fix.
Three Things That Set Us Apart
Founded by people in recovery
We are family-owned and built by people in long-term recovery. When you call New Wave, you talk to someone who has walked this path, not a call center.
The same therapist throughout
You keep your private therapist as you move between levels of care, so your progress is never interrupted and you never start over.
Holistic care, every day
Holistic healing is woven into daily treatment alongside evidence-based therapy, not offered once in a while. We treat mind, body, and spirit together.

The New Wave Difference FAQs
Want to talk to a real person? Call us, someone in recovery will answer.
What makes New Wave Recovery different?
We combine evidence-based clinical therapy with daily holistic healing, keep the same therapist across levels of care, and are family-owned by people in long-term recovery. We treat the whole person, not just the addiction.
What does whole-person treatment mean?
It means caring for mind, body, and spirit together. Alongside proven clinical therapy, we weave in daily holistic practices that calm the nervous system and address the underlying issues beneath addiction.
Do you only treat addiction, or underlying issues too?
Both. Our approach uncovers and addresses the underlying issues that drive substance use, anxiety, depression, trauma, so recovery lasts rather than just managing symptoms.
Is holistic care a replacement for clinical treatment?
No. Holistic care complements evidence-based therapy; it never replaces it. The two work together every day at New Wave.
Why does the same-therapist model matter?
Continuity builds trust and momentum. Keeping the same therapist across levels of care means your progress is never interrupted and you never start over.
Is treatment covered by insurance?
Often yes. We are in-network with WellSense and approved through MassHealth (the plan we accept is WellSense). Our team can verify your benefits.
